Linear in Mono
47 works
This series represents a long period of experimentation in style for me. Originally started as stream of consciousness abstraction, the forms quickly morphed and began to take on more concrete subjects. My main goal with these pieces was to explore the various abstract influences on my work with an eye towards linear deconstruction and organic forms. The use of only a single color on white has forced me to be ever more aware of form and negative space, but also allowed me to heavily explore the manipulation of space in the viewing plane.
What emerges across this series is a visual vocabulary that is uniquely my own — one built not from a single moment of intention but from the accumulated residue of experimentation. The tension between control and surrender is perhaps most visible here; where the stream of consciousness origin of these works bleeds through the more resolved forms, leaving traces of the process embedded in the final image. In this way the works function as both artifact and record, a map of an evolving artistic identity that resists the urge to arrive at any fixed destination.
