Romantic Comedy for the Criminally Insane

I am continuously drawn to the act of mark making and the subtle way layered textured of physical media begins to build up and interact. This fascination has lead me to begin exploring a process of intuitive mark making that relies on principles of emergent philosophy to drive the creation of a piece. This intuition allows me to fully enter a creative flow with ease, where this act of mark making is the predominate concern, and where on a conscious level the more formal aspects like composition are allowed to fall away. Here with this piece the marks are juxtaposed in a continuous manner until from the swirl of earth tones emerges quasi figure forms, forming the anchoring points of the overall composition and setting a certain tone for the piece that is allowed to be explored by the viewer in an ever changing dance of temperament. Like many of my pieces, the title is pulled from a long of list of phraseology I have collected from various sources, and although this was not created with the title in mind, it was an immediate acknowledgment from myself upon reading it that the two paired together perfectly.
